The 62nd PVI Living History Family celebrated Christmas together during an open house at the Armstrong County Historical Museum & Genealogical Society in Kittanning, PA. We enjoyed each other’s company while always remembering our dear friend Joe McShane.
This event concluded a successful year for our group, and we look forward to 2023.

The 62nd PA Volunteer Infantry Living History Family had a memorable weekend at the Gettysburg Heritage Center Museum in October of 2022. We set up our encampment on the lawn of the Heritage Center Museum and spent a great weekend together drilling, cooking, fellowshipping and educating the public about the Civil War and the 62nd PA Volunteer Infantry’s story throughout the war.

The 62nd PA Volunteer Infantry Living History Family travelled to Gettysburg in November of 2022 for the Remembrance Day ceremonies, always a very moving event marking the dedication of the Soldier’s National Cemetery and President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address in November of 1863. We participated in the Remembrance Day Parade and Illumination at the Soldiers’ National Cemetery, and of course held a respectful ceremony and laying of the Wheat Sheaf at the 62nd PA Volunteer Infantry monument in The Wheatfield.
